In 2022, Vivo launched the X90 series running on Android 13-based FunTouch OS and powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 SoC. The camera-focused series features Zeiss-branded triple rear cameras and Vivo’s V2 chip for image processing. Both models have 6.78-inch curved 3D AMOLED displays and support fast charging up to 120W. The X90 Pro flaunts a 1-inch Sony sensor and offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Finally, Vivo started pushing their new major OS update, Funtouch OS 14, for the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro based on Android 14. The update has now started rolling around the globe.

Vivo X90 Pro and Vivo X90 Device Overview and Differences

Vivo X90 Pro and Vivo X90, both launched in India on April 26, bear several similarities but have distinct features that set them apart. Both models are built on Android 13-based FunTouch OS and powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 SoC. They flaunt Zeiss-branded triple rear camera units and feature Vivo’s V2 chip for image processing. Both models sport 6.78-inch curved 3D AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates and offer up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. However, the differences between them lie primarily in the camera setup and other specifications.

The Vivo X90 Pro, with its premium specifications, comes with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 989 1-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX758 sensor, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 663 sensor, making it slightly superior in terms of camera performance compared to the Vivo X90, which features a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX866 sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 portrait camera, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide-angle camera. The Vivo X90 Pro also offers a higher level of protection with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, compared to the IP64 rating on the Vivo X90, indicating a higher resilience to environmental elements.
