If you are certain that the internet connection is not the issue, but you are still struggling, try the next solution.
Lower the resolution:
It has been found that if the host system is set to a higher resolution, the other machine that has the login credentials is unable to access it. All they see is a black screen. So try changing the resolution of the host machine to a lower value and try setting up the connection again.
If it still does not work, move on to the next fix.
Update Windows:
Microsoft pushes out updates to Windows regularly to fix its issues. To fix your error with Teamviewer, you should try updating your Windows to the latest version as well. The update should be performed on both systems though.
- Press Windows Key + I to open up Windows Settings.
- Click on “Update & Security.”
- Now, click on the Windows Update tab, and you will see the Windows update option in the right pane. If you see a pending Windows update, install it on your computer.
If updating Windows to the latest version does not help with the Teamviewer not working properly, try the next solution mentioned below.
Disable Antivirus:
Sometimes, antivirus programs block out certain system or application operations suspecting them to threaten the system’s security. That can lead to Teamviewer not working as well. So it would be best if you tried disabling your antivirus to fix this.
To disable your antivirus program, launch it on your computer and find the setting to turn off Real-time protection. Different antivirus programs have different UI elements. So on your antivirus program, you need to find the setting on your own. Once you do find it, disable it and then close the antivirus program.
If disabling the antivirus program does not help with the Teamviewer application, try the next solution mentioned below.
Tweak the registry:
The Windows registry can have registry values that might hinder the Teamviewer from working properly. This can be fixed simply by setting up the correct settings. So let’s look into it.
- Click on the Start button.
- Type regedit in the search box and press Enter.
- Navigate to: ” HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\TEAMVIEWER”
- Go to File and choose Export.
- Then select Add DisableDuplicationAPI to your registry.
- Now, close the Registry Edit window.
- Click on the start button again and enter services.msc in the Search box.
- Press Enter and a list of services will show up on your screen.
- Find the Teamviewer process, right-click on it, and choose restart.
If this does not solve your issue with Teamviewer, try the next fix.
Run the troubleshooter:
Windows has a built-in utility, the troubleshooter, that can scan your system for any possible error and then fix it if it finds one. The troubleshooter is easily accessible in the Settings window. But we will show you how to use the troubleshooter via the Windows Control Panel.
- Click on the Windows search bar and look for “Control Panel.”
- Once it shows up in the results, click on Open.
- Set the “view by” in the upper right corner as Large icons.
- Click on Troubleshooting and then choose the “View all” option in the left corner of the window.
- You will see a list of all the built-in troubleshooters on your system. Select the appropriate troubleshooter tool and then click on Next.
- Then follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter on your computer. The troubleshooter will resolve any issue that it detects on your system.
Once this is done, try reusing the Teamviewer application. If it still does not operate properly, try the next solution mentioned below.
Use another application:
If none of the solutions mentioned above worked for you, we would strongly suggest you try some other application or tool that provides similar functionalities. The best alternative we would recommend to you is to try the free version of Mikogo. That would do all you needed out of Teamviewer
