The Wi-Fi Calling service or VoWiFi service has been introduced recently in India from Airtel and then Reliance Jio. However, there are plenty of smartphone brands and device models aren’t compatible or not included on the list of supported devices. Meanwhile, the Nokia WiFi Calling feature has arrived on some of the compatible models like Nokia 7.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8.1, and Nokia 6.1 Plus. Even Nokia 7.2 unit has also received this feature.
Though it’s been quite late to implement this feature by Nokia, it’s better late than never. As both the Airtel and Jio are literally expanding the VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) service across India, it will take some time to spread the Wi-Fi Calling feature in each and every city. Similarly, more and more compatible devices will soon receive this VoWiFi feature as well. Still, the Airtel Wi-Fi Calling feature isn’t available for the Nokia devices.
