How to Fix Nightingale Connection Error When Using Portals

1. Relaunch the Game
You can try force-closing the Nightingale game and relaunching it on the computer to ensure there is no issue with the temporary game glitch or cache data.
2. Run Nightingale as an Administrator
It’s also recommended to run Nightingale as an administrator on the PC by following the steps below to allow the User Account Control (UAC) permission. This method will help the game to run seamlessly with the system’s permission without any conflicts.
- Head over to the installed game directory on your PC.
- Right-click on the Nightingale.exe application.
- Select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.
- Enable the Run this program as an administrator option.
- Once done, click on Apply > Select OK to save changes.
3. Check the Internet Connection
It’s suggested to check your internet connection at your end to ensure there is no network issue or not. A slow or unstable internet connection can cause multiple server-related issues whatsoever. If you’re using a wired (ethernet) connection, try using a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection or vice versa to check for the issue. You can also try using a different network to cross-check it. Additionally, you can try power cycling the Wi-Fi router to check if the networking glitches have been fixed or not.
4. Update Nightingale

8. Update the Network Driver
Sometimes temporary networking glitches or issues with the network adapter driver can trouble you a lot. You should try updating the network adapter driver on the PC by following the steps below to ensure there is no issue with the networking connectivity.
- Press the Win+X keys to open the Quick Link Menu.
- Click on Device Manager from the list.
- Now, double-click on the Network adapters category to expand the list.
- Right-click on the specific network device.
- Select Update driver > Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- If an update is available, it’ll automatically download and install the latest version.
- Once done, reboot your system to change the effects.
9. Close Unnecessary Background Tasks
You should try closing unnecessary third-party background tasks on your PC by following the steps below to ensure there is no issue with the game’s performance. Sometimes background processes can trouble you a lot.
- Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys to open Task Manager.
- Go to Processes > Right-click on the task.
- Click on End Task.
- Do the same steps for each unnecessary third-party task.
- Once done, reboot the PC to apply changes.
10. Whitelist Nightingale in Windows Firewall
The Windows Firewall program can aggressively prevent ongoing connections with the Nightingale server at times. It’s recommended to whitelist the game program in Firewall by following the steps below to check for the issue again.
- Open the Start menu > Search and open Control Panel.
- Click on Systems and Security > Go to Windows Firewall.
- Choose Allow an app through Windows Firewall.
- Next, click on Change Settings.
- Click on Allow another app.
- Then click on Browse > Select Nightingale.
- Now, click on Add.
- Save changes to check for the issue again.
11. Turn Off Antivirus
Another thing you can do is to turn off the antivirus protection manually on your computer by following the steps below. Sometimes aggressive antivirus scanning can cause game file blocking which seems suspicious and eventually prevents game files from running properly.
- Press the Win+I keys to open Windows Settings.
- Click on Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
- Now, click on the Open Windows Security button.
- Go to Virus & Threat Protection.
- Click on Manage Settings.
- Turn Off the Real-time Protection toggle.
- If prompted, click on Yes to proceed further.
