If you are still facing problems hiding the taskbar, try the next solution.
Restart Windows explorer:
When multiple Windows applications run simultaneously, the computer might have issues running simple Windows tasks, like the Windows explorer. If the Windows Explorer is acting up, you will face issues hiding your taskbar. So you should try restarting this application and check whether that solves the problem or not.
- Click on the Windows search bar and look for “Task Manager.”
- Task Manager will show up in the results. Here, click on Open to open up the Task Manager window.
- Now, click on the processes tab of the Task Manager window.
- In the list below, you will find Windows Explorer. Click on it and choose the Restart button in the bottom right corner of the task manager window.

This will restart the windows explorer, and that should help with the taskbar problem. If it still resides after this, try the next solution mentioned below.
Any application requires your permission:
Applications get notifications from time to time which does not go away until the user checks it. When there is a notification from an application, the application icon will pop up in the taskbar. And the taskbar won’t go away until you check it.
- Click on the Windows search bar and look for “Settings.”
- Settings will show up in the results. Here, click on Open to open up the Windows Settings window.
- In the Windows Settings window, click on the “System” icon.
- In the left pane, click on “Notifications & Actions.”
- In the right pane, you will see a setting called Notification. Under it, there will be a toggle. You can turn off this toggle to prevent any app from showing any notification to you.

- If you want some applications to show notifications, you can selectively pick out the apps you want notifications for. For that, scroll down on the right pane and look for the section called “Get notifications from these senders.” Here, you will see a list of all installed apps with toggles next to them. You can use these toggles to turn notifications on or off for a particular application selectively.

Check System tray icon:
Just like the usual apps running in the foreground showing notifications prevents the taskbar from hiding, the apps running in the background also does the same. These applications can be accessed from the system tray located in the bottom right corner of your taskbar.
To solve this problem, you can either check the notification of the background application or disable it entirely. To check the notification, click on the system tray icon in the right corner of the taskbar. It will be a small upward arrow icon. That will display the applications running in the background. Click on the application that is showing a notification.
You can also force quit this application by right-clicking on the icon in the system tray and choosing Exit or Quit.
