Here we’ve shared an easy and valid way to use subtitles on Kodi using the OpenSubtitles add-on natively. 1. Register with OpenSubtitles Account

First of all, you should register your new account with the OpenSubtitles service from the official link: https://www.opensubtitles.org and simply register your account.
Go through the on-screen instructions to complete the registration process by creating a username and password for the same.

2. Select Add-Ons on Kodi

Once you create the account, run your Kodi streaming device > Click on Add-ons.
You’ll see an option called Package Installer > Click on it to open.
Now, click on Install from repository.

3. Open Kodi Add-On Repository

You can go to the Kodi add-on repository.
Then expand the list to find the subtitles folder and open it.

4. Install Subtitles on Kodi using OpenSubtitles.Org

After opening the subtitles folder, you can check for the OpenSubtitles.org option from the list.
Click on the Install option at the bottom right side of the screen.
You’ll need to wait for it to install and a successful notification will show that the Opensubtitles.org add-on has been installed.

5. Enter User Credentials

Now, you’ll need to click on Opensubtitles.org again > Click on the Configure icon to open a dialogue box.
Enter the account username and password that you’ve recently created by registering the OpenSubtitles account.
Then hit Enter and click on the Settings icon from your home screen.
You’ll need to open the Player settings > Click on the basic icon next to the cog icon.
Change it to Standard > Select the specific Language that you want to display.

6. Access Subtitle Features and Download Languages

After clicking on languages, a drop-down menu will appear.
Now, click on languages to download subtitles.
Select your preferred language for Kodi > Click on Default TV show service.
Next, set up subtitles for your favorite TV shows.
You can also click on More to open a list of subtitles that will show up in the drop-down menu.
Again you’ll need to locate OpenSubtitles.org and download the file.
Once the download completes, click on OpenSubtitles.org and start the installation process.
You’ll have to open the default movie service and choose the Opensubstitles.org option again.
Then confirm the changes by clicking on Okay.
Finally, go to Settings > Click on Language and set Opensubtitles.org as a default for subtitles.

What If Kodi Subtitles Still Not Working?

But somehow if you’re unable to use subtitles on Kodi while streaming then you should enable subtitles from the add-on settings menu. To do this:

Go to Settings > Click on Add-ons.
Then go to Video add-ons > Click on the specific add-on.
Scroll down the add-on menu > Select Tools.
Next, click on Settings: subtitles > From the right side of the screen, Enable the subtitles option.
Click on OK to save changes.
You’re done, You have successfully enabled subtitles on Kodi.

How to Use Kodi Subtitles Without Registering?

Now, if you don’t want to use Kodi subtitles without registering with the OpenSubtitles.org account then don’t worry. You can still use Kodi subtitles quite easily by following the steps below.

Go to the Kodi home screen > Click on Settings on the top-left side of the screen.
Click on Player from the list of options > Now, click on the Language option.
From the drop-down panel, locate download services.
Right-click on the icon to change the desired Kodi language.
Now, click on Default TV show service > Click on the Get more button to download Subscene.com for Kodi.
Choose Subscene.com to change the default subtitle service on Kodi.
Next, click on Default movie service > Go to Subscene.com again to choose the default subtitle.

Steps to Turn Off Kodi Subtitles

If you don’t want to use subtitles on Kodi always then make sure to follow the steps below to check the same.

While playing the video or TV show, open the on-screen display.
Now, click on Audio options > Make sure to Turn Off the Subtitles option.
Scroll down and select Save as default for all videos.
