1. Reboot the PC
First of all, you should try rebooting the PC manually to clear temporary glitches or cache data issues whatsoever. Some players did fix the gameplay progress saving issue by simply restarting the device. So, you can try it. Though not everyone will get benefitted from this method, there is no harm in trying the step.
2. Run the Game as an Administrator
You should try running the game file as an administrator on the Windows system to allow the program to run properly. Not running the game or client as an administrator, you may find it pretty difficult to avoid game launching issues or settings not saving issues that require UAC (User Account Control) access. - Open the Epic Games Launcher on your PC.
- Go to the Library section.
- Click on the three dots icon next to Dying Light 2.
- Now, click on Verify from the drop-down menu.
- It may take some time depending on the size of the game.
- Once done, reboot the launcher and play the game.
5. Tweak the Shortcut File
You can also try tweaking the shortcut file of the game application to ensure there is no issue with the permissions of game progress saving. To do that:
- Ensure to take a backup of the game’s folder from C:\Users\\Documents\DyingLight. [If you’ve installed the game on another drive, then go there]
- Go to the game installation directory > Locate the DyingLightGame.exe file.
- Now, create a desktop shortcut to this file. Just right-click on it and select the Send to Desktop option.
- Then go to the desktop screen and right-click on the shortcut file.
- Select Properties > Under the Shortcut tab, you should add -epicenv=Prod -EpicPortal -epicusername=”test” at the end of the text.
