4. Scan and Repair Game Files
It’s quite possible that your installed game files become corrupted or missing on the computer due to some unexpected reasons such as while updating the game or installing the game. But you can easily scan and repair the installed game files from your respective game client for the PC version which is a nice thing. To do that:
Battle.net:
- Open Battle.net > Click on Diablo IV.
- Click on OPTIONS (Gear icon).
- Next, click on Scan and Repair.

- Click on Begin Scan.
- Wait for the repair process to complete.
- Once done, close Battle.net, and restart your PC.
Steam:
- Open Steam > Go to Library.
- Right-click on Diablo IV.
- Go to Settings > Select Properties.
- Click on Local Files > Select Verify integrity of game files.

- It may take a couple of seconds to verify.
- Once done, close Steam, and restart the PC.
5. Check the Network Status
You should also check the internet connection at your end to ensure there is no issue with poor or unstable network signals. Mostly a poor network can cause issues with connecting to online services. Unless you’re using a wireless (Wi-Fi) connection, try switching to the wired network or vice versa to cross-check the connection issues. You can also try using another network to ensure there is no issue with the server connectivity.
6. Check the Diablo Server Status

Another thing you can do is to check the Diablo server status (online services) from the third-party DownDetector webpage. While covering this article, we can see that there are some server outage reports have been submitted by Diablo IV players in the last 24 hours. Now, if you’re also encountering server downtime then wait for a couple of hours and try again later.
7. Reset the Wi-Fi Router
It’s also recommended to reset the Wi-Fi router manually to clear the networking glitch. Several users have already found this trick helpful in fixing multiple networking issues like server connectivity or game login queues. Make sure your Wi-Fi Router is turned on > Press and hold down the Reset button on the router for a few seconds until the LED lights start blinking randomly. Then release the reset button and log into the admin dashboard of the router. Configure the auto settings and set the Wi-Fi password then join the network.
8. Flush DNS
DNS cache data can get stored over a period of time on the PC and may cause several issues with the network connectivity sometimes. It’s better to flush DNS manually to check if the login queue error has been fixed or not.
- Open the Start menu > Search Command Prompt.
- Right-click on Command Prompt > Click on Run as administrator.
- Click on Yes (if prompted) > Copy-paste the following command and hit Enter:
ipconfig /flushdns

- You’ll receive the Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache. message.
- Close the command prompt and restart the PC to apply changes.
9. Close Other Applications
You should also close background apps by following the steps below via Task Manager to prevent third-party unnecessary background tasks. Unnecessary tasks can eventually consume data bandwidth in the background to cause networking issues.
Please Note: Do not close system tasks or applications without knowledge. Otherwise, your system may get corrupted or you may face some issues.
- Open Task Manager by pressing the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys.
- Go to Processes > Choose the specific task that you want to close.
- Click on End Task.
- Now, do the same steps for each task individually.
- Once done, restart your PC.
Blizzard has recommended deleting the battle.net tools folder to check if any outdated, corrupted, or missing Battle.net folders/files occurring issues with the client. To do so:
- Close the Blizzard processes.
- Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys to open Task Manager.
- Click on the Processes tab.
- Right-click on the Blizzard tasks individually.
- Click on End Process.
- Go to the Battle.net folder directory:
- Press the Win+R keys to open the Run dialogue box.
- Type C:\ProgramData\ into the field and hit Enter.
- Now, Delete the Battle.net folder.
- Run the Battle.net client and relaunch Diablo 4.
11. Don’t Use VPN
There is no need to use VPN to get access to the game servers because it can increase ping delay or latency issues which eventually kick you out of the online services. Even if you’re able to connect to the game server, the gameplay will be affected a lot due to the ping delay.
If none of the methods worked for you then make sure to contact Blizzard Support for Diablo 4 to get better assistance. Additionally, you should submit a support ticket for the same issue so that developers can take a deep dive into it.
