- Firstly, press Windows + R altogether, and the Run dialogue box will appear on your screen.
- Now on the empty column type “appwiz.cpl” and press “Enter” to open the “Program and feature” option.
- On the Program and feature window, navigate through the list of installed application, and locate Synaptic drivers.
- Once you find it, right-click and select “Uninstall”. Follow the instruction from the screen to complete the uninstallation procedure. When done, restart your computer.

- After the New start-up sequence, download the Synaptic driver’s latest version from your Laptop manufacturer or visit this link.
Once the downloading process gets completed, follow the on-screen instructions to install the Synaptic driver. Your System may restart automatically now. If not, you may do it manually.
Now as the restarting process gets done, you can connect the Wi-Fi connection back again and check if the error issue is solved now.
Solution 3- Rename main.cpl
- From the start-up menu, open “File Explorer”.
- Now navigate to “C: WindowsSystem32” and then type “*.Cpl.” in the search bar.
- From the newly appeared list locate “main.cpl.mui” and rename it as “oldmain.cpl.mui” or “Newmain.cpl.mui” etc.

- Once done, restart your system and check for any improvement in the mouse settings.
If the “Control panel extension is Incompatible with driver version” error has started appearing recently than it may be possible that a new change in your System has affected your mouse drivers.
Note: It recommends always to choose a newer or closer date when performing System restore. Follow the steps given below:
